Call for Book Entries

The Mountain Literature Festival – Shimla invites submissions of published books for consideration under three distinct categories, as we celebrate diverse literary voices from around the world, across India, and from the heart of Himachal.

We're Looking For

  • Hindi

  • English

  • Himachali dialects

World Literature

Stories that transcend borders, challenge perspectives, and bring global voices into dialogue with the spirit of the mountains. This is where cultures meet, collide, and connect.

Indian Literature

Fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and regional masterpieces that explore the many layers of the Indian experience — from ancient myths to modern realities, from the heartland to the hinterlands.

Pahari Pen (Special Category)

Pahari Pen is a special category for Himachali writers and books in Himachali dialects. It celebrates the voices rooted in the mountains — keepers of oral traditions, folklore, and local life. These stories reflect the heart of Himachal’s culture.
In this category, the mountains speak through their own people.
